Description: This herbaceous vegetation type has been described from wetlands on the Yellowstone Plateau of northwestern Wyoming. It occupies mesic and subirrigated, mineral soils of sandy to medium texture, around seeps and on valley floors. The herbaceous vegetation may contain a variety of graminoids and forbs. <i>Carex aquatilis, Phleum alpinum, Deschampsia cespitosa, Potentilla diversifolia</i>, and <i>Symphyotrichum foliaceum</i> are always present, and a number of other species may be abundant, including <i>Antennaria corymbosa, Calamagrostis canadensis</i>, and <i>Carex microptera</i>.
