Description: This community type is found in the southeastern Great Plains region of the United States. Stands occur in oxbows and low areas along creeks and streams. Soils are poorly drained clays and silty loams. The vegetation is dominated by tall emergents 1-2 m tall. Dominant species include various combinations of <i>Typha angustifolia, Typha domingensis, Typha latifolia</i>, and <i>Schoenoplectus americanus</i>. Other species include <i>Carex hyalinolepis, Eleocharis</i> sp., <i>Lemna minor</i>, and <i>Sagittaria latifolia</i>. In Kansas <i>Schoenoplectus americanus</i> is very uncommon in this type
