Description: This forest is known from floodplains in the Crosstimbers Region of Oklahoma and Texas. The canopy of this forest is characteristically dominated by some combination of <i>Ulmus americana, Ulmus rubra</i>, and <i>Quercus muehlenbergii</i>. Other characteristic species include <i>Aesculus glabra, Celtis laevigata, Quercus macrocarpa, Quercus rubra</i>, and <i>Frangula caroliniana</i>, the latter as a shrub.
