Description: <i>Quercus fusiformis</i> woodlands of limestone-derived soils on the Edwards Plateau. Associated species include <i>Quercus buckleyi, Juniperus ashei, Quercus sinuata, Ulmus crassifolia, Quercus stellata, Rhus</i> spp., <i>Condalia</i> spp., and <i>Schizachyrium scoparium</i>. Canopy cover ranges from open to closed with monospecific mottes of <i>Quercus fusiformis</i> present in some areas. This woodland occurs in a mosaic with <i>Juniperus ashei</i>-dominated woodlands or shrublands (shallow soil and disturbed areas) and with grasslands or grassy openings with <i>Schizachyrium scoparium, Bouteloua curtipendula</i>, and <i>Hilaria belangeri</i>.
