Characteristic species are <i>Schizachyrium scoparium, Lesquerella gordonii, Castilleja purpurea var. citrina, Bouteloua hirsuta, Tetraneuris scaposa, Juniperus pinchotii, Liatris punctata, Lithospermum incisum</i>, and <i>Lomatium foeniculaceum</i>.
