Description: This ash - oak - sycamore mesic bottomland forest is found in Arkansas, Missouri and possibly other parts of the southeastern United States. Stands occur on level to gently sloping terraces and levees of stream and river floodplains, typically on larger streams. Soils are moderately well-drained and moist throughout the year, but only wet in spring. Ponding is typically absent. The species in the dominant tree layer include <i>Celtis occidentalis, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Platanus occidentalis, Quercus macrocarpa</i> (or more rarely <i>Quercus alba</i>). <i>Laportea canadensis</i> is common in the ground layer.
