Description: This association is only known from the Santa Monica Mountains region. This woodland association occurs on somewhat steep to steep slopes that are often north-facing at elevations between 53 and 420 m. It is dominated by <i>Quercus agrifolia</i> in the tree layer, <i>Salvia leucophylla</i> and <i>Artemisia californica</i> in the understory shrub layer, and a variety of grasses and forbs in the herbaceous layer.
