Description: This shrubland association occurs on gentle to steep slopes of variable aspect at low to mid elevations between 130 and 810 m. It is dominated by <i>Adenostoma fasciculatum</i> in the shrub layer, with lower cover of <i>Ceanothus megacarpus</i>. It has no significant herbaceous layer. The emergent tree layer is generally non-existent but may include occasional emergent <i>Quercus agrifolia</i>.
