Description: This association has only been described from Zion National Park, Utah. Additional global information will be added as it becomes available. Total vegetation cover for this association is less than 5%. Cryptogamic crust constitutes 85% of the ground cover, <i>Ephedra nevadensis</i> 3% foliar cover, <i>Atriplex canescens</i> 1%, and <i>Bromus tectorum</i> 1%. This association occurs on the top of small alluvium hills on the Virgin River valley floor. Elevation is approximately 1160 m (3800 feet), and soils are white in color and silty in texture. Ground cover is 85% cryptogamic crust.
