Description: This shrubland association is currently only known from Point Reyes National Seashore in California, and the following description is based on occurrences there. Additional information will be added as it becomes available. This association is found on the upper third of moderate slopes with northern to eastern aspects. Stands grow on moderately coarse sandy loams. This vegetation includes stands dominated by <i>Morella californica</i>, which forms a fairly closed canopy between 2-5 m in height. Other shrubs may include <i>Erechtites minimus</i> (exotic), <i>Toxicodendron diversilobum, Baccharis pilularis, Rubus ursinus, Urtica dioica, Pteridium aquilinum, Polystichum munitum, Ribes sanguineum, Holodiscus discolor, Phacelia malvifolia, Marah fabaceus, Garrya elliptica, Marah fabaceus</i>, and <i>Vaccinium ovatum</i>. Stands are generally small (&lt;1 ha).
