Name: Fraxinus latifolia / Symphoricarpos albus Riparian Forest
Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019
Description: According to Christy (2004), this association is a riparian forest. Fraxinus latifolia is typically the only tree present in these stands. Symphoricarpos albus and Rubus ursinus may cover up to half the shrub layer, and Corylus cornuta may sometimes have cover up to 40%. The herb layer is dominated by monotypic stands of Carex obnupta with few other species present. Depressions with Carex obnupta may remain flooded into the growing season.
