Description: This shrubland association occurs on moderately steep to steep northeast- and northwest-facing slopes at low to mid elevations between 207 and 781 m. It is dominated by <i>Adenostoma fasciculatum</i> and <i>Arctostaphylos glandulosa</i> in the shrub layer and in the herbaceous layer. The emergent tree layer includes <i>Quercus agrifolia</i>.
