Description: This shrubland association occurs on somewhat steep to steep slopes of variable aspect at low elevations between 337 and 675 m. It is characterized by a dominance of <i>Ceanothus crassifolius</i> and subdominance of <i>Malosma laurina</i> in the shrub layer and an insignificant herbaceous layer. The emergent tree layer includes occasional <i>Quercus agrifolia</i>.
