Description: This ruderal red-cedar forest results from fire suppression in glades and grasslands. This community is found throughout Oklahoma, ranging into the West Gulf Coastal Plain of Texas and into the Interior Highlands of Arkansas and Missouri. It is dominated by <i>Juniperus virginiana var. virginiana</i> in the canopy and <i>Schizachyrium scoparium</i> in the herb layer.
