Description: This shrubland association occurs on moderate to abrupt southwest-facing slopes at low elevations between 0 and 500 m. It is characterized by a dominance of <i>Eriogonum cinereum</i> in the shrub layer. The herbaceous layer has no characteristic species. The emergent tree layer is generally absent but can include <i>Quercus agrifolia</i> and <i>Umbellularia californica</i>.
