Description: This shrubland association occurs on somewhat steep to abrupt southwest- and southeast-facing slopes at low elevations between 0 and 602 m. It is characterized by a codominance of <i>Malosma laurina</i> and <i>Eriogonum fasciculatum</i> in the shrub layer. The herbaceous layer is insignificant. The emergent tree layer is usually absent.
