Description: This shrubland association occurs on gentle to abrupt slopes of variable aspect at low elevations between 5 and 750 m. It is characterized by a strong dominance of <i>Rhus integrifolia</i> in the shrub layer. The herbaceous layer is insignificant but commonly contains <i>Leymus condensatus</i>. The emergent tree layer is usually absent.
