Description: <i>Forestiera acuminata</i> dominates this swamp shrubland, often with <i>Planera aquatica</i> and/or <i>Cephalanthus occidentalis</i>. Cover is sparser in deeper swamps. This vegetation occurs in the Mississippi River Alluvial Plain, the Upper Gulf Coastal Plain, the Shawnee Hills section of the Interior Low Plateau, and the Arkansas Valley. It is found in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, and possibly Kentucky.
