Description: This association includes <i>Pinus palustris</i>-dominated woodlands in coastal areas of Georgia and Florida on dry to xeric sandy soils with a sparse to dense scrub oak subcanopy/shrub layer. The canopy is sparse and is dominated by <i>Pinus palustris</i>. The sparse to dense scrub oak subcanopy/shrub layer is dominated by <i>Quercus hemisphaerica, Quercus laevis, Quercus myrtifolia</i>, and <i>Morella cerifera</i>. The herbaceous layer is sparse and consists of <i>Andropogon ternarius, Cnidoscolus urens var. stimulosus, Dichanthelium sabulorum, Scleria triglomerata, Stillingia sylvatica, Tragia urens</i>, and others. Epiphytes include <i>Tillandsia usneoides</i>.
