Description: This association is found in blackwater rivers, streams and lakes, usually in stagnant water. Stands of this type are dominated by <i>Nuphar orbiculata</i>. In addition, <i>Pontederia cordata</i> may be present. This association occurs in a restricted range in Florida and Georgia in the Southeastern Coastal Plain of the United States and is fairly common in the Okefenokee Swamp.
