Description: This community occurs in the Chisos Mountains of Trans-Pecos Texas. Evergreen canopy species include <i>Arbutus xalapensis, Quercus grisea, Quercus rugosa, Quercus emoryi, Hesperocyparis arizonica, Juniperus flaccida, Juniperus deppeana, Juniperus monosperma, Pinus cembroides</i>, and <i>Pinus arizonica var. stormiae</i>. Deciduous canopy species include <i>Acer grandidentatum, Quercus gravesii, Quercus muehlenbergii, Quercus graciliformis</i>, and <i>Ostrya chisosensis</i>. Other characteristic species include <i>Salvia regla, Nolina erumpens, Dasylirion leiophyllum</i>, and <i>Agave havardiana</i>.
