Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019
Description: This association is currently described only from Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio. This community is found on flat floodplains but in sites that do not receive regular scouring. This wetland shrubland has a moderate to dense shrub canopy 2-5 m tall. Cornus racemosa, Baptisia australis, Amorpha fruticosa, and Salix spp. are dominant. Scattered trees common to the floodplain may be present. Platanus occidentalis, Populus deltoides, Salix nigra, and Acer negundo are among these. Herbaceous species are varied, but common ones are Alliaria petiolata, Phalaris arundinacea, Solidago canadensis, and Verbesina alternifolia.
