Description: <i>Swallenia alexandrae</i> forms a sparse to open herbaceous layer. Shrub and tree layers are absent. <i>Dicoria canescens</i> is often present, as well as scattered seasonal presence of <i>Astragalus lentiginosus var. micans</i> and <i>Oenothera californica ssp. eurekensis</i>. This association in currently only known from dunes in the Eureka Valley in Death Valley, California. Elevations range from approximately 900 to 1200 m. Soils are derived from eolian sand, and textures are sand.
