Description: This sandy lakeshore community occurs on the Ossipee Lake sandplain in New Hampshire. The water body is large enough to generate wave action and ice disturbance, which maintains the open character of the vegetation. The community is characterized by <i>Hudsonia tomentosa, Schizachyrium scoparium, Euthamia caroliniana, Euthamia graminifolia, Asclepias amplexicaulis, Lespedeza capitata, Helianthemum bicknellii, Prunus pumila, Lupinus perennis, Lechea</i> spp., and several species of <i>Panicum</i>.
