Description: This association consists of wetlands heavily invaded by <i>Lythrum salicaria</i> with few or no species indicating the former more native association analog. <i>Lythrum</i> makes up at least 75% of the vegetation cover and may approach 100%. The sparse associates include common wetland plants such as <i>Impatiens capensis, Onoclea sensibilis, Thelypteris palustris, Carex stricta</i>, and <i>Typha</i> spp. Shrubs are sparse or absent.
