Description: This community includes steep erosional bluffs (also called cliffs) with sparse vegetation occurring on the North Atlantic Coast of the United States and probably into Canada. The coarse sand and gravel substrate is unconsolidated. This community is currently described for Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, but is known to occur on Block Island, Rhode Island, and other Massachusetts islands including Martha's Vineyard and Nomans Land Island.
