Description: This seasonally flooded wetland occurs on the North Atlantic Coastal Plain of New Jersey in topographically defined basins. The dominant species are <i>Panicum virgatum</i> and <i>Sphagnum</i> spp., including <i>Sphagnum lescurii</i>. Other associates include <i>Andropogon virginicus, Carex albolutescens, Carex striata var. brevis, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Cladium mariscoides, Drosera intermedia, Eriocaulon decangulare, Euthamia graminifolia, Hypericum canadense, Hypericum denticulatum, Lobelia canbyi, Muhlenbergia uniflora, Panicum rigidulum var. pubescens, Panicum rigidulum var. rigidulum, Rhexia virginica, Vaccinium macrocarpon</i>, and <i>Viola lanceolata</i>. This vegetation occurs on the relatively higher, outer margin of the basin. The substrate is a thin organic horizon overtopping deep sand.
