Description: This is a non-tidal, seasonally flooded mangrove community of southern Florida that occurs over deep organic soils containing marine marls and freshwater peats. The 3- to 7-m tall canopy is dominated by <i>Rhizophora mangle, Laguncularia racemosa, Avicennia germinans</i>, and <i>Conocarpus erectus</i>. Subcanopy and shrub species include <i>Jacquinia keyensis, Sideroxylon celastrinum, Lycium carolinianum</i>, and <i>Rhabdadenia biflora</i>. Herbs include <i>Cladium mariscus ssp. jamaicense</i> and <i>Ipomoea violacea</i>. Epiphytes are very abundant and diverse, and include <i>Tillandsia flexuosa, Tillandsia paucifolia, Tillandsia fasciculata, Tillandsia balbisiana, Tillandsia bartramii x fasciculata, Tillandsia utriculata, Encyclia tampensis</i>, and <i>Vanilla barbellata</i>.
