Description: This East Gulf Coastal Plain upland forest is dominated by various combinations of <i>Quercus hemisphaerica, Quercus falcata, Quercus nigra</i>, and <i>Quercus virginiana</i> (within its range) which occur on fire-sheltered sandy uplands. The subcanopy may include <i>Cornus florida, Magnolia grandiflora, Quercus nigra</i>, and <i>Ilex opaca</i>. Shrubs and vines include <i>Vaccinium arboreum, Vaccinium</i> sp., <i>Gelsemium sempervirens</i>, and <i>Vitis rotundifolia</i>. Herbs, which are few and sparse, include <i>Euphorbia floridana</i> (within its range), <i>Cnidoscolus urens var. stimulosus</i>, and <i>Desmodium</i> sp.
