Description: This is a forest of large floodplain ridges in the Atchafalaya watershed and nearby portions of the Red River Alluvial Plain. The status of this type in other watersheds is unknown. The canopy is dominated by <i>Quercus laurifolia</i> and <i>Quercus nigra</i>. In addition, <i>Quercus virginiana</i> may be present within its range.
