Description: This shrubland association is currently only known from Yosemite National Park in California, and the following description is based on occurrences there. Additional information will be added as it becomes available. Stands are found at high elevations (approximately 3020 m [9900 feet]). They are dominated by <i>Salix melanopsis</i>. Other species that may be present include <i>Salix eastwoodiae, Allium validum, Symphyotrichum spathulatum var. spathulatum, Salix planifolia ssp. planifolia, Lupinus burkei ssp. burkei, Hordeum brachyantherum</i>, and <i>Descurainia californica</i>.
