Description: This is a tall riparian shrubland dominated by <i>Salix lasiolepis</i>, with a depauperate herbaceous undergrowth. Shrubs are tall, from 2-10 m in height, with canopy coverage of 60-100%. Other shrubs present include <i>Artemisia californica, Lotus dendroideus, Baccharis pilularis, Baccharis salicifolia, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Diplacus aurantiacus, Rosa californica</i>, and <i>Salix exigua</i>. Herbaceous species include <i>Galium</i> spp., <i>Isocoma</i> spp., <i>Schoenoplectus acutus, Cyperus eragrostis</i>, and <i>Typha</i> species. It occurs in the warm desert and Mediterranean climates of California and likely occurs in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
