Description: This shrubland association is found in the Mojave Desert in southern Nevada and has an open shrub canopy (11-18% cover) that is dominated by <i>Ambrosia dumosa</i> with <i>Larrea tridentata</i> codominant and <i>Krameria erecta</i> characteristically present with trace cover. Other shrubs often present include <i>Opuntia basilaris</i> and <i>Psorothamnus fremontii</i>. The herbaceous layer is variable (4-13% cover) and typically species-rich, characteristically including <i>Abronia villosa, Oenothera deltoides, Palafoxia arida</i>, and <i>Plantago ovata</i>. Rare and uncommon plants can be found in this association such as <i>Astragalus geyeri var. triquetrus, Androstephium breviflorum</i>, and <i>Astragalus sabulonum</i>. Stands occur on low-elevation sand dunes and sandy washes, such as along the shores of Lake Mead reservoir. Elevation ranges from approximately 350 to 550 m. Soils are eolian sand.
