Description: This desert wash shrubland association is uncommon in Mojave Desert mountain ranges in Arizona and California. It has an open shrub canopy in (12-29% cover) that is codominated by <i>Prunus fasciculata</i> and <i>Rhus trilobata</i>, with other characteristic shrubs such as <i>Echinocereus engelmannii</i> and <i>Eriogonum fasciculatum</i>. Other associated shrubs include <i>Acacia greggii, Artemisia dracunculus, Baccharis sergiloides, Brickellia californica, Brickellia longifolia, Cylindropuntia acanthocarpa, Ephedra viridis, Ericameria linearifolia, Gutierrezia microcephala, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Hymenoclea salsola, Purshia mexicana, Salazaria mexicana, Salvia mohavensis, Stephanomeria pauciflora, Thamnosma montana</i>, and <i>Yucca baccata</i>. Herbaceous cover is variable and ranges from 1 to 7% cover. Commonly associated herbs include <i>Achnatherum speciosum, Artemisia ludoviciana, Oenothera caespitosa, Penstemon palmeri, Sphaeralcea ambigua, Stephanomeria pauciflora</i>, and exotic species <i>Erodium cicutarium</i>. Nonvascular species such as lichens are present.
