Name: Disturbed Woody Wetland [Park Special]
Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019
Description: This type is a conceptual placeholder, designed only to act as a provisional type for vegetation complexes, ruderal or early-successional vegetation, and other types that cannot be reliably classified. It is created to facilitate regularized local land unit mapping of a managed area and to provide a standard label for polygons in a vegetation map. It includes successional shrublands and woodlands of disturbed floodplains, seepage wetlands, and artificial impoundments (including impoundments due to beaver activity). They are typically dominated by Salix nigra, Populus deltoides, Alnus serrulata, and/or Cephalanthus occidentalis. Standing snags of dead or dying trees are often present.
