Description: These are long-hydroperiod, seasonally flooded forests of the coastal plains dominated or codominated by <i>Fraxinus caroliniana</i>, which is the dominant tree in stands. Examples are known from the Florida Peninsula and the West Gulf Coastal Plain. Florida examples contain <i>Sabal palmetto, Ulmus americana</i>, and <i>Cephalanthus occidentalis</i>. The trees in some examples may be shorter than 5 m, especially when young or successional following fire or other disturbance. This alliance is associated with natural or anthropogenic disturbance.
