Description: Vegetation in this alliance, characterized by annual plants, occurs in ephemeral pools, shallow depressions, and/or seepage areas, and also occurs locally as a zonal component of sandstone flatrock vegetation in the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee, northeastern Alabama and northwestern Georgia. <i>Diamorpha smallii</i> can have high cover in some examples. Some examples may also have <i>Minuartia glabra, Cyperus granitophilus</i>, and other annuals.
