Name: Lasallia papulosa - Lasallia caroliniana Appalachian Rock Outcrop Alliance Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019 Description: This nonvascular vegetation consists of xeric lichen-dominated vegetation, codominated by <i>Lasallia papulosa</i> and <i>Lasallia caroliniana</i>. It is known from moderate to high elevations of the Southern Blue Ridge of Tennessee and North Carolina, where it occurs on steeply sloping exfoliation outcrops of felsic metamorphic rocks.
