Description: This alliance covers wet areas which are dominated by exotic shrubs, not forested with native or exotic trees. These include riparian and coastal areas which are dominated by exotic shrubs. Examples may be dominated by <i>Ligustrum sinense</i> and <i>Tamarix</i> spp. and other exotic shrubs. It occurs in warm temperate areas of the southern United States, and the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.
