Description: This aquatic submerged herbaceous alliance is dominated by <i>Schoenoplectus subterminalis</i> and usually has other species present such as <i>Nuphar polysepala</i> and <i>Utricularia macrorhiza</i>. It occurs in very shallow permanent ponds, most frequently where there is large annual water-level fluctuation. Substrates are saturated organic soil. It occurs in Washington but could be more widespread in the western U.S.
