Description: This sparsely vegetated rock outcrop and cliff face macrogroup is found in the boreal regions of Alaska and adjacent Yukon of. Stands include patchy vegetated fractures in the rock surface and less steep or more stable slopes that are composed of scattered trees and/or shrubs. Trees species include <i>Pinus contorta, Tsuga</i> spp., and <i>Picea mariana</i>. Mosses or lichens may be very dense, well-developed and display cover well over 10%.
