Description: This permanently and seasonally inundated forest includes the gallery forests that have a rich flora which varies with site. The commonest species are <i>Albizia zygia, Alstonia boonei, Alstonia congensis, Anthocleista nobilis, Baikaea insignis, Berlinia grandiflora, Berlinia</i> spp., <i>Ceiba thonningii, Chrysobalanus atocorensis, Dacryodes edulis, Gambeya africana, Gambeya</i> spp., <i>Nauclea</i> spp., <i>Raphia</i> spp., <i>Sterculia</i> spp., <i>Symphonia globulifera, Uapaca guineensis, Uapaca heudelotii</i>, and <i>Xilopia</i> spp., among many others. Buttresses, stilt roots, loop roots, and erect pneumatophores are common in swamp forests.
