The woody swamps along river courses are intermingled with peaty herbaceous marshes of Hypogynium spathiflorum, Jardinea gabonensis, Panicunz parviflorum, and Rhytachne rottboellioides, together with species of Andropogon, Loudetia and Setaria, and sedges Eleocharis nupeensis, Kyllinga vaginata (= Kyllinga pungens), and Rhynchospora albida.
