Description: The macrogroup encompass woodlands of subhumid climate, with high mean temperature (&gt;20°C) and 1200-1500 mm annual precipitation distributed in two rainy seasons. These woodlands, which can grade from closed to very open mainly due to fire regime, are usually on the eastern border of the moist forests of the Congo Basin. Species include <i>Terminalia velutina, Stereospermum kunthianum, Piliostigma thonningii, Bridelia michrantha, Albizia grandibracteata</i>, and <i>Maesopsis eminii</i>, characteristic of closed woodlands and indicators of old fires. <i>Dombeya rotundifolia, Combretum molle, Combretum binderanun, Grewia bicolor, Lonchocarpus laxiflorus</i>, and <i>Hymenocardia acida</i> are common in the wooded grassland, the most open vegetation type of this macrogroup.
