Name: Madagascar Southwestern Dry Forest-Thicket Macrogroup Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019 Description: This type represents vegetation communities occurring in the central-west and southwestern parts of Madagascar, from sea level up to about 600 to 800 m. The characteristic physiognomy is that of a dry woodland with many succulent species; variations across its range are related to the underlying geology, mostly sand, limestones and sandstones. Average annual rainfall amounts to 750 mm.
