Description: This macrogroup corresponds to a group of <i>Acacia - Commiphora</i> communities that occur in relatively moister areas than ~Eastern African <i>Acacia</i> Woodland Macrogroup (M473)$$ and ~Eastern African Bushland & Thicket Macrogroup (M471)$$, with mean annual rainfall of 600 to 800 mm. Generally, it is found in the southern part of the Rift Valley, between 900 and 1400 m elevation, in the southeastern parts of Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Karamoja-Uganda, and part of the Eleni triangle in Sudan. Dominant species are <i>Acacia seyal, Acacia drepanolobium, Acacia tortilis, Acacia horrida, Commiphora erythraea, Commiphora myrrha</i>, and among the grasses are <i>Themeda triandra, Setaria incrassata, Panicum coloratum, Aristida adscensionis, Andropogon</i> spp., and <i>Eragrostis</i> spp.
