Description:
Lower and upper montane forests of the central Guiana Highlands in Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil, on the slopes of the Tepuis and the Gran Sabana, and some interior plateaus of the massifs, from 400-2500 m elevation. Remijia sp., or Virola surinamensis, Licania alba, Licania densiflora, Parinari excelsa, Inga punctata, Mora gonggrijpii, Hymenaea courbaril, Clathrotropis brachypetala, Lecointea amazonica, Cedrela odorata, Erisma uncinatum, Qualea dinizii, Tabebuia stenocalyx, while upper montane forests are dominated by genera Bonnetia, Sloanea, Matayba, Vochysia, Podocarpus, Cyrilla racemiflora, Perissocarpa, Hedyosmum, Prunus, Schefflera, Vismia, and Clusia, with some very restricted species endemics.
