Description: This macrogroup is composed of only one known type of Amazonian floodplain forest occurring at elevations slightly above 1000 m in the Cordillera Azul of the sub-Andean region in Peru, in elevated wide valleys. It supports communities of the palm <i>Mauritia flexuosa</i> with <i>Symphonia</i> sp., <i>Ficus</i> spp., and marsh forbs.
