Description: This macrogroup represents seasonally flooded savannas of the southern side of the Orinoco River floodplain, close to its delta. These are savannas with an open shrub layer and a short and sparse grass layer. Diagnostic species are <i>Panicum orinocanum, Panicum micranthum, Bulbostylis lanata, Rhynchospora filiformis, Rhynchospora globosa, Xyris</i> sp., <i>Utricularia</i> spp., <i>Comolia leptophylla, Sorghastrum setosum, Panicum tricholaenoides</i>, and <i>Echinolaena inflexa</i>.
