Description: Riparian open shrubland to herbaceous marshes of the northern Chaco, with an active flooding dynamic and seral vegetation communities organized according to the level and periodicity of flooding. Woody components include <i>Salix humboldtiana, Tessaria integrifolia, Tessaria dodonaeifolia, Acacia aroma, Acacia macracantha, Acacia caven, Sapium haematospermum, Sesbania virgata, Mimosa pellita (= Mimosa pigra)</i>, to open woodlands of <i>Bulnesia sarmientoi, Dyckia ferox, Cercidium praecox</i>, and <i>Stetsonia coryne</i> growing on poorly drained, fine-textured soils of recent streambeds that are occasionally flooded.
